Kate-Katreeyat Bowens Makes a Surprise Appearance at the ‘Bride Hard’ Premiere — the Hilarious New Film Where a Wedding Becomes a Battlefield!

Neramitnung Film and Shinesaeng Ad.Venture officially launched the action comedy Bride Hard in Thailand, with a PRESS SCREENING held at SF World Cinema, CentralWorld, with special guest Kate-Katreeyat Bowens, well-known actress and influencer, joining the screening.

“Sam” (played by Rebel Wilson), a highly skilled spy, is invited to be the maid of honor at her close friend’s lavish wedding, amid an atmosphere of perfection and a strict “no weapons” rule. Everything is turned upside down when a group of mercenaries storm the ceremony, forcing Sam to fight the villains in a ball gown, all while keeping her identity secret and making sure the wedding doesn’t fall apart — a situation both chaotic and hilarious, full of weapons improvised from makeup tools.

“Kate-Katreeyat” attended a screening of the action comedy Bride Hard, and afterward shared that she was impressed by the girl power the film clearly conveyed, through the roles of its strong, memorable female characters.

“The film really gives you that girl-power, best-friend feeling. It’s got comedy, blistering action, and jokes woven in at just the right moments, making it so much fun to watch.”

She also praised the performance of leading actress “Rebel Wilson,” who brought the role to life so vividly, especially the seamless blend of action and comedy that kept the story engaging from start to finish. “It’s 100% thrilling, honestly a film you never get bored watching,” Kate said.

Simon West the acclaimed director behind classic action films Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The Expendables 2, returns with his latest work, Bride Hard, which reworks the Die Hard action formula in the chaotic setting of a wedding, starring Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp, together bringing a story that blends the feisty spirit of Bridesmaids with all-out action.

He also revealed the thinking behind the film’s tone: “Part of the film’s tone comes from me, but it was also influenced by Rebel. She has a distinctive acting style and a personality that’s funny, tough and feisty — she’s a performer with a unique kind of energy. I just gave her the space to perform fully, then built the action scenes around her style.”

Bride Hard opens up a new side of Rebel in an action role — she trained seriously in combat, and while she’s not a precise, technical martial artist, she uses the persona of a “chaotic fighter” to build her own unique identity, including a standout scene where she uses a “hair clip” in place of a nunchaku (a Japanese martial arts weapon), drawing on real skills she had actually trained in.

As for the title, which was intentionally meant to echo “Die Hard,” West admitted it was completely deliberate. “I love both Bridesmaids and Die Hard a lot, so I wanted to try combining the two genres and turn it into something genuinely fun, both to make and to watch. It’s a film that should be seen in a cinema with a few hundred other people, so we can all laugh and enjoy it together.”

In an era when many films go straight to streaming, West believes Bride Hard is an experience truly designed for the big screen.
