Watch Out! First Trailer for Happy Monday(S) — “Ob-PP” Flip Their Characters, “Victor-Bell-Poon” Join to Round Out the Fun

If one day you woke up to the exact same day, over and over! “Neramitnung Film” together with “Shinesaeng Ad.Venture” present the first romantic comedy film “Happy Monday(s)…Happy Monday(S)” born from the creative idea and direction of Kor–Chakri Chaipreecha, selected from the “Content Lab” program of the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), now served up for movie fans to enjoy.

The first trailer for “Happy Monday(S)” reveals the giddy life of Earth (Ob-Obnithi), a mischievous 8th-year student in his final semester before graduating. Instead of focusing on his studies, he pours all his energy into courting a younger student, Sai Mai (PP-Punpreedee) — but keeps losing out to the campus heartthrob, Tao (Poon Mitrpakdee). Earth plans to confess his love to Sai Mai on Monday, 1 April 2024, but everything goes off script on the night of the graduation party. Earth wakes up to find himself stuck in Monday, 1 April, again and again. So he seizes the chance to spoil himself as much as possible, doing everything he can to win Sai Mai’s heart.

“Happy Monday(S) is a film about university student life. Director Kor-Chakri cast skilled young actors for this film, including leading man Ob–Obnithi Wiwatnawarang who this time flips his character from a cool, handsome guy into ‘Earth,’ an 8th-year student whose life is going nowhere, focused only on chasing girls, and bright young leading lady PP–Punpreedee Khumprom Rodsavas who plays “Sai Mai,” the campus star that Earth tries everything to win over.”

The film also features young actor Poon Mitrpakdee as “Tao,” a handsome, rich, top-of-the-class rival for Earth’s affections, Victor–Chatchawit Techarukpong as “Rak,” Earth’s close friend who constantly nags and pushes him to shape up, and talented young singer Bell–Warissara Jitpreedaskul as “Kimchi,” Rak’s girlfriend and Earth’s spiciest rival.

Director Kor-Chakri said, “Ob and I have known each other since I made my first short film, then met again when I was editing a series — we used to talk about when we’d finally get to work together. But Ob joining this film isn’t just because we promised each other; the role suits him too. Up to now, people have only seen Ob in serious roles, but I know Ob, and I know he’s a funny guy — this side of him has never been seen in a film or series before. I’m using Ob in a new way. What I like is that once we picked Ob, he designed certain parts of the character himself, interpreted it and pitched it back to us, taking the character ‘Earth’ further than we imagined. As for the character ‘Sai Mai,’ she had to be a campus star — beautiful, and not exactly a model citizen. I picked someone with a classic pretty face that guys would definitely like, and PP played it in a way that makes you want to know more about her — an expression that isn’t too obvious, but she’s got a lot going on inside, which really matches Sai Mai’s character.”

As for Victor, who plays ‘Rak,’ a close friend of Earth’s into spiritual charms — Rak isn’t a neat, tidy person, but he still has to be Earth’s moral compass, and Victor conveyed that really well. Plus, Victor himself really does collect sacred charms in real life, which fits the role of Rak perfectly. As for Bell, she’s exactly the right character for the role of ‘Kimchi’ — a role that can be played many different ways, so I gave her a lot of freedom to improvise on set. While Rak is neat enough to manage Earth’s life, Kimchi is the one who has to manage Rak’s life in turn — Kimchi has to go toe-to-toe with Earth constantly, and Bell played it without being intimidated by Ob at all. As for Poon, playing the role of ‘Tao,’ the character is meant to feel like the nation’s next ideal husband — handsome and striking from the very first glance. Poon interpreted the character we wrote really well,” said Kor-Chakri.Don’t miss it!
