The Dream Man Appears in the Full Trailer for Dream Scenario, A24's Outstanding New Film

Neramitnung Film and Shinesaeng Ad.Venture release the full trailer for the dark comedy, the latest work from A24, “DREAM SCENARIO : Tonight, Dream of Me” directed and written by Kristoffer Borgli, produced by Ari Aster. It's a landmark moment as acclaimed actor Nicolas Cage takes on an A24 film with a wildly original plot for the first time. Get ready to meet the dream man this 14 December.

DREAM SCENARIO tells the story of Paul Matthews (Nicolas Cage), an ordinary man who becomes an overnight celebrity, following the highs and lows of his life in a wickedly satirical comedy full of fun twists that play on the consciousness of modern life — an age in which anyone can become famous in an instant, and fame can just as quickly fade away or be destroyed.

This marks the first English-language film from director Kristoffer Borgli, a Norwegian filmmaker whose breakout work, Sick of Myself (2022), featured a similarly compelling character — a young woman who feels her boyfriend pulling away, so she takes a certain drug and develops a bizarre illness that disfigures her body. She then becomes an overnight celebrity because of her strange condition — a disfigured face, wounds all over her body — drawing swarms of media to cover her story.

“I'm interested in stories about characters who are stubborn and live from birth to death without any fixed goal. I make films because I'm drawn to stories that explore the deeply flawed or dark perspectives of modern life. Human beings have a tendency to want to lean into negativity — maybe because we feel like something is missing, or even if we had everything, achieved total perfection, we could still make mistakes because we're lacking some skill,” the director said.
