Bangkok University: Digital Media and Film Arts Students Sign On for the Neramitnung Film x BUDC “Catch a Ghost, Make a Movie” Project

Dr. Peerachai Kerdsin, Dean of the Faculty of Digital Media and Film Arts, Bangkok University said this is an important opportunity for students to gain professional-level work experience under the guidance of experts from a major film production company like Neramitnung Film. Beyond giving participating students the knowledge and skills to create original ideas and the process of developing them into a pitch deck, it also gives them insight into marketing perspectives and the media consumption preferences of audiences both in Thailand and abroad.

Meanwhile, Lecturer Chakrin Thepwong, Head of the Department of Film, Bangkok University, added that most film students don't really see a career path in screenwriting, and not being able to see that path means they don't push themselves to develop in this area — even though it is an important position that the industry is currently short of. Opportunities to showcase screenwriting skills also don't come up as often as they should. Having an activity like this pushes film students to develop their screenwriting skills and helps them see a path to prove themselves to the industry, so they can genuinely advance into a career as film screenwriters.
